Myself and other concerned Nigerians walked into the scenes of the attacks and nothing could have prepared our hearts for what we saw The ground cried louder than the people Every step we took was on blood Not because we wanted to but because innocent lives had been poured out like water before our eyes We stood with the people of Angwan Rukuba Their cries pierced the heavens Mothers wailing Fathers broken Young men standing in shock not knowing whether to scream or to collapse We tried to speak but our voices trembled How do you comfort people standing in the middle of such pain From there we rushed to Jos University Teaching Hospital The sight there was even more heartbreaking Bodies torn Lives hanging by a thread Eyes filled with fear and silent questions We held their hands We prayed We cried with them One man looked at us Shot by a gun His face brutally cut open by a machete Blood still fresh Pain written all over him Yet he was still breathing Still hoping Still fighting to...
